I'll be sharing a short presentation--ein kleines Referat--with the 'biblical translation & interpretation' small group that I'm going to be a part of. Overall, my goals for this six-day-long conference include: meeting new people, speaking German, hearing good lectures (during which I make sure to nod knowingly at all the right places), enjoying some good German "Kaffee Pause" (coffee breaks), and learning all kinds of new things.
On the flight, I'll be reading the Luther book pictured here. I've been saving a good occasion for getting into it. I've been tuning up my fall semester syllabi while I wait at the gate, too. On a related note, I had the privilege this morning of seeing the final copy of an article I wrote about Luther's early theology. It will come out in the autumn 2017 edition of Lutheran Quarterly.
Historian that I am, I'm hoping to blog a little each day about things I've learned. What will I know in a few days that I don't know now? Stay tuned! On a personal note, I haven't left the airport and I already miss my family. Be well, dear ones!
